ClockGrapher

About ClockGrapher

I'm James Swift. I repair clocks on the Isle of Bute, and I make ClockGrapher on my own, as a sole trader.

Why I made it

A clock on the bench for an afternoon only tells you so much. The faults that matter often show up over days: a rate that wanders as the week goes on, a beat that drifts, a clock that stops on the third night. I wanted to watch several clocks at once for that long, without tying up a bench timer, so I wrote the software to do it. ClockGrapher is that tool, made ready for other people to use.

How it works

ClockGrapher runs on your own computer. It listens through a microphone or audio interface, picks out each beat, and keeps the results in a database on that computer. You look at it in a web browser, on the same computer or anywhere on your network.

It works without the internet. When it is online it checks its licence and looks for updates, about once a day. Your recordings never leave your computer. This site has no adverts and no tracking.

The beta

ClockGrapher is in a free beta on Windows and Linux, and a macOS version is in progress. I'd like it tried on more clocks, microphones and computers than I own. The feedback button in the app comes straight to me, and I read everything.

Join the free beta or see the prices for after it.
